Learn To Play, Converse With Confidence - Peoria Preschool

Dr. Maria Montessori

Education is the only way to build a new and peaceful world...

We believe that children are naturally curious, capable, and full of potential. Early education is a formative journey that shapes not only academic foundations but also independence, confidence, and character. Guided by our philosophy of Care with Curriculum, we honor each child’s individuality while fostering a deep love for learning.

Inspired by Montessori and Reggio-Emilia principles, our approach emphasizes hands-on exploration, meaningful relationships, and learning through experience. Children are encouraged to think critically, express themselves creatively, and develop empathy, resilience, and social awareness within a thoughtfully prepared environment.

We are committed to creating a nurturing, respectful, and joyful community where children are viewed as active participants in their learning. Through collaboration, discovery, and purposeful guidance, we empower every child to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally—laying the foundation for lifelong learning and responsible global citizenship.

Campus

At Abode Peoria Preschool, we are proud to offer a high-quality childcare experience in the Valley, set on a beautiful two-acre campus designed to inspire exploration, movement, and connection with nature.

Thoughtfully designed for development at every stage, each age group has its own dedicated playground area, ensuring safe, age-appropriate exploration. Every classroom also opens directly to its own private patio space, allowing for seamless indoor-outdoor learning and daily access to fresh air and movement.

Our campus includes outdoor classrooms, a multi-use studio for dance, yoga, and art, an ever-expanding variety of playground equipment that support our athletic programs.

Our campus is home to three goats, two pigs, and several chickens, giving children meaningful, hands-on experiences with animals and the natural world. We also feature a dedicated gardening area, where children actively participate in planting, nurturing, and harvesting.

Nutrition

At Abode Peoria Preschool, our on-site private chef prepares fresh, nutritious meals daily, including breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. Each meal is thoughtfully planned to support healthy growth and development and meets the Arizona Department of Health Services’ nutritional guidelines.

We are proud to be a CACFP-approved center, ensuring our meals meet federally recognized standards for balanced nutrition. All food is prepared fresh on-site using quality ingredients—so families can move beyond the idea of typical “school lunches” and feel confident knowing their children are enjoying wholesome, real food that supports lifelong health and wellness. All meals are included as part of tuition, with no additional fees.

Curriculum

At Abode, we believe children thrive when structure and creativity work hand in hand. By blending Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, we offer a balanced learning experience that supports both independence and collaboration.

Montessori principles provide children with a strong foundation in self-care, responsibility, focus, and independence. Reggio Emilia principles enrich this foundation by encouraging curiosity, creativity, communication, and project-based learning driven by children’s interests.

This blended approach allows us to:

  •  Honor each child’s individuality and learning style

  •  Encourage independence while nurturing teamwork and social connection

  •  Support hands-on learning through meaningful experiences

  •  Foster critical thinking, creativity, and emotional intelligence

  •

By combining the strengths of both philosophies, we create a warm, engaging environment where children feel confident, respected, and inspired to learn—academically, socially, and emotionally.

Animals & Gardening

One of the most beloved aspects of Abode Peoria Preschool is our wonderful group of animals on campus. We are home to three goats, two pigs, four chickens, and a lizard, giving children unique, hands-on opportunities to connect with living creatures.

Our educators use these experiences to teach compassion, responsibility, and respect for all living things. When appropriate and under close supervision, children are encouraged to observe, gently interact with, and help care for the animals as part of a meaningful, real-world learning experience.

Yoga & More

At Abode Peoria Preschool, yoga and mindful movement are an integral part of our curriculum, supporting children’s physical, emotional, and social development from infancy through kindergarten. Our yoga sessions are thoughtfully designed to be age-appropriate, engaging, and playful—helping children build body awareness, balance, coordination, and self-regulation.

For infants and toddlers, yoga focuses on gentle movement, stretching, music, and sensory experiences that support motor development, flexibility, and calm engagement. Yoga at Abode is not about perfection or poses—it’s about connection, movement, and joy. Through these sessions, children learn healthy habits for managing emotions, relieving stress, and caring for their minds and bodies, laying the foundation for lifelong wellness.
